Curriculum Google Cloud Associate Cloud Engineer | ACE

Google Cloud Associate Cloud Engineer (ACE): 4 exam sections

1. Setting up a cloud solution environment (~20%)

This section covers the groundwork for any Google Cloud deployment: projects, accounts and billing. You set up the resource hierarchy and make sure costs are tracked from the start.

  • Creating a resource hierarchy and applying organisational policies to it
  • Granting IAM roles within a project and managing users and groups in Cloud Identity
  • Enabling APIs, assessing quotas and checking product availability across regions and zones
  • Configuring Cloud Asset Inventory, Workforce Identity Federation and Google Cloud Observability
  • Managing billing: billing accounts, linking projects, budgets, alerts and billing exports
2. Planning and implementing a cloud solution (~30%)

Here you choose the right compute, data, storage and networking products for a workload and then deploy them. The section also covers Infrastructure as Code and AI-assisted tooling.

  • Compute: choosing between Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Run and Cloud Run functions, launching instances, autoscaled managed instance groups and Spot VMs
  • Deploying GKE clusters (Autopilot, regional, private) and containerised applications, and deploying to serverless platforms that process Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage and Eventarc events
  • Storage and data: choosing and deploying products such as Cloud SQL, BigQuery, Firestore, Spanner, Bigtable, Cloud Storage and Filestore, and loading data
  • Networking: VPCs and subnets, Shared VPC, firewall rules and Cloud NGFW policies, Cloud VPN, Cloud Interconnect and load balancers
  • Tooling: Terraform, Helm, Config Connector and Fabric FAST, plus AI-assisted planning with Gemini CLI and Gemini Cloud Assist
3. Ensuring the successful operation of a cloud solution (~30%)

This section is about day-to-day operations once a solution is live. It covers managing compute, data and networking resources, and monitoring and logging.

  • Managing compute: connecting to instances, snapshots and images, GKE node pools and Kubernetes resources, Pod autoscaling, and Cloud Run versions, traffic splitting and autoscaling
  • Managing storage and data: securing Cloud Storage objects, lifecycle policies, running queries, backing up and restoring databases, and customer-managed encryption keys (CMEK)
  • Managing networking: resizing subnets, reserving static IP addresses, custom static routes, Cloud DNS, Cloud NAT and firewall rules
  • Monitoring and logging: Cloud Monitoring alerts and custom metrics, audit logs, log buckets and log routers, exporting logs, and the Ops Agent
  • Investigating issues with Cloud Trace, Cloud Profiler and Query Insights, and using Gemini Cloud Assist and Active Assist
4. Configuring access and security (~20%)

The last section covers who and what can access your resources. It has two parts: managing IAM and managing service accounts.

  • Viewing and creating IAM policies
  • Attaching roles and understanding policy inheritance in the organisation hierarchy
  • Managing the role types and defining custom IAM roles
  • Creating service accounts, assigning them to resources and granting minimum permissions
  • Service account impersonation, short-lived credentials and Workload Identity Federation

Learning from Tashkent

Cloud Computing for learners in Tashkent, Uzbekistan

About Tashkent

Uzbekistan's capital and largest city, the centre of its government, banking and telecom sectors. A government-backed IT Park and a wave of software outsourcing and fintech startups have made it the country's tech base. Outsourcing firms in IT Park deliver projects on AWS and Kubernetes for foreign clients, so DevOps and Linux skills translate directly into project roles.

Who learns from Tashkent

Students from Tashkent University of Information Technologies and Inha University, developers at IT Park resident companies building export software, and bank IT staff working on digital payments projects.

Attending online

Tashkent is only 30 minutes behind IST, so live sessions sit at almost the same clock time locally, making evening and weekend batches easy to fit around a working day. Learners get English-medium instruction without needing to relocate.

Cloud Computing career scope in Tashkent

Cloud Computing jobs in Tashkent

Cloud and DevOps work in Tashkent is concentrated among IT Park residents that build and maintain software for clients in Europe and North America, EPAM's Uzbekistan teams among them, where engineers are expected to handle CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes and AWS or Azure accounts from their first project. Uzum runs its own high-traffic e-commerce and banking platforms, and Uzbektelecom operates network and data-centre services that need Linux administrators.

Inha University in Tashkent and TUIT supply most junior engineers, while Westminster International University graduates often move into business-facing technical roles. Foreign-client projects tend to value AWS Solutions Architect Associate, CKA and Red Hat's RHCSA because the clients themselves recognise them. A realistic path starts with Linux and networking, moves to containers, then finishes with one cloud certification, and the near-identical clock time to IST lets someone on a standard Tashkent office day join after work without late nights.

For students & freshers in Tashkent

Tashkent students and recent graduates usually weigh a first job inside an IT Park resident company against remote work for an overseas employer, and both paths expect visible hands-on work rather than transcripts alone. A job-oriented program fits beside final-year study at TUIT, Inha University in Tashkent or Westminster International University, because evening batches start at almost the same clock time locally.

Freshers can assemble a portfolio of lab exercises, a capstone project and one entry-level certification, then use it for internships at Uzum, the banks or outsourcing firms. WebAsha's placement-guarantee program and 500+ hiring partners give graduates a route to Indian and international employers, a natural extension for anyone already used to delivering IT Park projects for foreign clients. Classes are delivered live online, so nobody relocates; recordings cover exam weeks, and 24x7 lab access lets a student repeat configurations until they can explain every step to an interviewer.

Tech community in Tashkent

Meetups, chapters and events near you

In Tashkent, GDG Tashkent is the clearest public meeting point for developers, with talks and workshops on Google technologies, cloud and mobile development. For someone taking a live online course in cloud, DevOps or data, those sessions are a low pressure place to ask questions, compare notes with local engineers, and later present a small project of your own.

Much of the local developer scene also gathers around the government backed IT Park, though we could not confirm its current programme here, so check it directly. A simple plan is to attend a few GDG events, find two or three people working on similar tools, and set up regular practice together alongside the online classes. That kind of peer group often leads to referrals and mentors.

Independent community groups, listed for reference. They are not run by or affiliated with WebAsha.
