The Microsoft Azure Administrator (AZ-104) training at WebAsha Technologies in Cape Town teaches you to implement, manage and monitor a Microsoft Azure environment, which is the day-to-day work of an Azure administrator. The course follows the skills Microsoft measures in the AZ-104 exam.

You will work through Azure identities and governance (Microsoft Entra ID, RBAC, Azure Policy), storage (accounts, blobs, file shares), compute (VMs, App Service, containers), virtual networking (VNets, load balancing, DNS, network security), and monitoring and backup (Azure Monitor, Azure Backup, Site Recovery).

The course suits system administrators and cloud engineers. Learning from Cape Town

Cloud Computing for learners in Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa

About Cape Town

South Africa's legislative capital combines tourism, a busy port and Winelands agriculture with the head offices of insurers and retailers. It also has the country's most active startup scene, and Amazon runs a large development centre here. Amazon's presence in Cape Town and cloud-first startups like Takealot keep DevOps and Linux engineers in demand.

Who learns from Cape Town

UCT, UWC and CPUT students, IT staff at insurers in Bellville and the CBD, and developers in Woodstock startups who want to add cloud or security credentials.

Attending online

Cape Town is 3.5 hours behind IST year-round, so an IST evening batch runs in the Cape Town afternoon. Studying from home avoids the N1 and N2 traffic, and recordings help when load-shedding interrupts a live session. Classes come.

Cloud Computing career scope in Cape Town

Cloud Computing jobs in Cape Town

Cloud engineering has a long history in Cape Town. Amazon has run software development teams in the city for years, and AWS operates its Africa region from Cape Town, so local engineers have worked on cloud infrastructure from the start. Takealot runs its platform on cloud services, Old Mutual and Sanlam are modernising legacy insurance systems, and startups in Woodstock and the CBD are mostly cloud-native. UCT, Stellenbosch and CPUT graduates enter as juniors, and support engineers often move into DevOps.

A sensible path in Cape Town is Linux with RHCSA, then AWS Solutions Architect Associate, which carries particular weight given Amazon's local footprint, then CKA for container platforms, with Azure Administrator useful at the insurers in Pinelands and Bellville. Since IST evening sessions fall in the Cape Town afternoon, Woodstock and CBD developers on hybrid contracts can attend live on home days, and recordings cover the rest.

For students & freshers in Cape Town

For students and freshers in Cape Town, internships, graduate programmes and SETA-registered learnerships at Old Mutual, Sanlam, Shoprite and Takealot are the main entry routes. A UCT, UWC, CPUT or Stellenbosch student can follow WebAsha's online classes to earn a certification, complete lab projects and rehearse interviews for Cape Town and overseas employers. Its placement-guarantee programme and hiring partners help freshers open to roles in India or remote positions, which matters where competition for Century City and CBD entry roles is strong.

Graduates from the Cape Flats and other areas far from the CBD avoid long taxi or train journeys by studying online. With Cape Town on SAST all year, the evening batch always starts mid-afternoon, so students in Bellville or Rondebosch can plan around it each semester, and recordings cover clashes. A project such as building a POPIA-aware data pipeline or a secured cloud application helps with local interviews.

Tech community in Cape Town

Meetups, chapters and events near you

Cape Town has a long-running security scene. BSides Cape Town, community run since 2011, is held around the first weekend of December and gives learners a chance to sit in on technical talks or submit one of their own.

The OWASP Cape Town chapter has backed that conference and hosts application security meetings, which help anyone studying web security or DevSecOps connect theory with practice. If you are on a live online cyber security or cloud course, use the chapter meetings to ask practitioners how they handle real incidents, and use BSides to meet hiring managers face to face.

Independent community groups, listed for reference. They are not run by or affiliated with WebAsha.
