OSCP+ | Penetration Testing with Kali Linux (PEN-200) course training overview

Learn Penetration Testing with Kali Linux (PEN-200) in our Classroom and Online OSCP+ Training at WebAsha Technologies. You practise the hands-on, 'Try Harder' skills that the OSCP+ exam tests.

Training overview:

OSCP+ is OffSec's main penetration-testing certification, earned through the PEN-200 course. It covers hands-on offensive skills: enumeration, web and client-side attacks, exploitation, Linux and Windows privilege escalation, pivoting and Active Directory attacks. You prove them in a demanding 24-hour practical exam that is entirely hands-on.

Intended audience:

This course suits aspiring penetration testers, security analysts, SOC and IT professionals moving into offensive security, and anyone targeting the OSCP certification.

Topics covered:

  • Information gathering: Passive and active reconnaissance.
  • Web application attacks: Common web flaws and SQL injection.
  • Client-side attacks: Phishing and payload delivery.
  • Exploitation: Finding, fixing and running exploits.
  • Privilege escalation: Linux and Windows.
  • Pivoting & tunneling: Reach internal networks.
  • Active Directory: Enumeration, authentication attacks, lateral movement.
  • Reporting: Professional penetration-test reports.

Requirements:

Comfort with Linux and the command line is recommended. Online participants need a stable internet connection and a laptop/desktop for the live labs.

Prerequisites:

OffSec recommends a solid grasp of TCP/IP networking, comfort administering both Windows and Linux, and basic Bash or Python scripting. No formal prerequisite certification is required.

Career benefits:

OSCP opens senior offensive-security roles. In India, OSCP-certified penetration testers typically earn ₹6 LPA to ₹38+ LPA as they gain experience.

Learning from Canterbury

Cyber Security for learners in Canterbury, England (Kent), United Kingdom

About Canterbury

A historic cathedral city in east Kent whose economy rests on its universities, tourism around the cathedral and retail. High-speed trains to St Pancras also make it a base for London commuters. The University of Kent has a recognised cybersecurity research group, and NHS trusts in east Kent need security-aware IT staff.

Who learns from Canterbury

Students at Kent and Christ Church who want practical IT credentials, and London commuters who want to upskill without spending more evenings in the city.

Attending online

For people already spending close to an hour each way on the Southeastern high-speed line, an evening class in London isn't appealing. IST is 4.5 to 5.5 hours ahead of the UK, so IST evening batches fall in the Kent afternoon or can be watched later. All classes are live online.

Cyber Security career scope in Canterbury

Cyber Security jobs in Canterbury

Canterbury has no security vendors of note, so the work sits inside its universities, hospitals and the London firms many residents commute to. East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust runs clinical systems at the Kent and Canterbury Hospital and other sites, the University of Kent and Canterbury Christ Church University protect student and research data, and London banks and consultancies reached on the Southeastern high-speed line hire analysts who can work hybrid.

The University of Kent's School of Computing has an established cybersecurity research group, and its students are the most likely local learners. A practical route is CompTIA Security+ for a first analyst role, then CEH or penetration-testing labs, with NHS Data Security and Protection Toolkit awareness useful for health jobs. IST evening batches fall in the Kent afternoon, so commuters typically study from recordings in the evening and use the 24x7 labs at weekends, attending live on work-from-home days.

For students & freshers in Canterbury

For students in Canterbury, the most common goals are placement years, graduate schemes in London and roles in the Kent public sector. WebAsha's online courses, taught, let a Kent or Christ Church student pair a certification and lab projects with coaching for the assessment centres London graduate schemes run. Its placement-guarantee programme and hiring partners suit Canterbury freshers who would rather work remotely than commute to St Pancras, or who are open to roles in India.

Creative arts students at UCA who want to move into tech can use a structured data or cloud course as a bridge, while international students can build evidence for UK graduate visa job searches. The live session reaches Canterbury mid-afternoon, so a student can head down from the Kent campus on the hill after morning lectures, and recordings cover placement weeks. A project such as securing a small web application helps applications to London consultancies that recruit from Kent universities.

Tech community in Canterbury

Meetups, chapters and events near you

Canterbury is a smaller city, and verifiable tech groups that meet inside it are few. Most regular activity happens across Kent. The University of Kent has run technology fairs showing its computing and engineering research, which suits students who want to see applied projects up close.

codeHarbour meets monthly in Kent for talks on development and process, and PHP Kent runs its own meetups in the county. Someone taking a live online cloud, Linux or DevOps course from Canterbury can treat these as places to give a short talk on a lab project, swap notes with working developers and hear which local firms are hiring. Expect some travel within the county for in-person events.

Independent community groups, listed for reference. They are not run by or affiliated with WebAsha.
