Live instructor-led online classes for Freiburg learners

The OSCP+ | Penetration Testing with Kali Linux (PEN-200) training at WebAsha Technologies in Freiburg prepares you for OffSec's PEN-200: Penetration Testing with Kali Linux course and the exam that follows it.

OffSec's current syllabus has 19 modules. They cover information gathering, vulnerability scanning, web application and client-side attacks, locating and fixing public exploits, antivirus evasion, password attacks, Windows and Linux privilege escalation, tunneling, the Metasploit Framework and three Active Directory modules.

The exam is a proctored 23-hour-45-minute hands-on test, and you then have 24 hours to write and upload the report. Since the 2024 update, a pass earns both the OSCP, which does not expire, and the OSCP+, which is valid for three years. WebAsha's offensive-security trainers and cyber-range labs give you practice on similar targets, and the course keeps to OffSec's 'Try Harder' approach.

Learn Penetration Testing with Kali Linux (PEN-200) in our classroom and online OSCP+ training at WebAsha Technologies. You practise the hands-on skills that the OSCP+ exam tests.

Training overview:

OSCP+ is OffSec's penetration-testing certification, and PEN-200 is the course that prepares you for it. The 19 modules in OffSec's current syllabus run from information gathering and vulnerability scanning, through web, client-side and password attacks, to privilege escalation, tunneling and Active Directory. The exam is a proctored practical test in a 24-hour slot.

Intended audience:

This course suits aspiring penetration testers, security analysts, and SOC and IT professionals moving into offensive security. It also suits anyone preparing for the OSCP+ exam.

Topics covered:

  • Information gathering: Passive information gathering, port scanning and service enumeration.
  • Web application attacks: Directory traversal, file inclusion, file upload flaws, command injection and SQL injection.
  • Client-side attacks: Target reconnaissance and attacks that run on the user's own software.
  • Exploitation: Locating, checking and fixing public exploits.
  • Privilege escalation: Windows and Linux systems.
  • Pivoting & tunneling: Reaching internal networks through tunnels.
  • Active Directory: Enumeration, authentication attacks and lateral movement.
  • Reporting: Writing a penetration-test report.

Requirements:

You should be comfortable with Linux and the command line. Online participants need a stable internet connection and a laptop or desktop for the live labs.

Prerequisites:

OffSec sets no formal prerequisites. It strongly recommends a solid understanding of TCP/IP networking, reasonable Windows and Linux administration experience, and familiarity with basic Bash or Python scripting.

Career benefits:

OSCP can lead to senior offensive-security roles. In India, OSCP-certified penetration testers typically earn ₹6 LPA to ₹38+ LPA as they gain experience.

Learning from Freiburg

Cyber Security for learners in Freiburg, Baden-Württemberg, Germany

About Freiburg

A university city on the edge of the Black Forest, known for the University of Freiburg, solar energy research at Fraunhofer ISE and its environmental policies, including the Vauban eco-district. Its university hospital is one of the region's largest employers. The university hospital and research institutes hold sensitive patient and research data that needs protecting.

Who learns from Freiburg

Mostly students and researchers at the University of Freiburg, including international master's students, who want practical IT or data skills alongside their degrees.

Attending online

Germany is three and a half to four and a half hours behind IST, so IST evening classes fall in Freiburg's afternoon. Specialised IT bootcamps are scarce in a city of this size, so online classes avoid trips to Stuttgart or Basel.

Cyber Security career scope in Freiburg

Cyber Security jobs in Freiburg

Freiburg's security needs come from healthcare, research and nearby manufacturers. The University Medical Center Freiburg must protect patient data and medical devices, and German hospitals above a certain size fall under KRITIS rules for critical infrastructure. Research institutes such as Fraunhofer ISE and Fraunhofer IPM guard valuable intellectual property, and SICK AG, the sensor maker in nearby Waldkirch, needs product and OT security specialists. Software publisher Haufe Group, headquartered in Freiburg, also hires security staff.

The University of Freiburg's computer science department supplies most graduates, and cross-border commuters can also look at roles in Basel's pharmaceutical companies. Since the clinic and Haufe operate largely in German, a learner should pair CompTIA Security+, CEH and later CISSP or ISO 27001 auditing with solid German. Live IST evening classes fall in the Freiburg afternoon, so students between seminars at the university can often attend, while staff at the clinic rely on recordings.

For students & freshers in Freiburg

Students and freshers in Freiburg mostly come from the University of Freiburg, including many international master's students, and they often look for Werkstudent jobs or internships at research institutes, software firms or manufacturers in the region. WebAsha's job-oriented programs, taught live online, give these Freiburg students a portfolio piece such as a secured server, a cloud deployment or a solar-yield dashboard.

Students at the Freiburg University of Education can use similar projects to add technical skills. International students should check the working-hour limits on their residence permits, and those who intend to work in Switzerland should check cross-border permit rules. Recordings and 24x7 labs help students fit study around lectures. Ask admissions how the placement-guarantee program and hiring-partner network apply to Baden-Württemberg or Basel roles before relying on them.

Tech community in Freiburg

Meetups, chapters and events near you

Freiburg's tech scene is small and student heavy. The Google Developer Group on Campus at the University of Freiburg, founded in 2021, runs workshops, hackathons and Study Jams, and a long-running Software Engineering and Developer MeetUp gathers monthly to swap experience on all kinds of development topics. If you are taking a live online course in cloud, data or DevOps, these are good places to practise explaining your work to other builders.

A Study Jam lines up neatly with cloud lab exercises, and the monthly meetup is relaxed enough for a first lightning talk. Students and engineers who show up regularly also make useful study partners when you prepare for certification exams. We could not verify a local OWASP group, so security learners may need to look further afield.

Independent community groups, listed for reference. They are not run by or affiliated with WebAsha.
