Live instructor-led online classes for Markham learners

The OSCP+ | Penetration Testing with Kali Linux (PEN-200) training at WebAsha Technologies in Markham prepares you for OffSec's PEN-200: Penetration Testing with Kali Linux course and the exam that follows it.

OffSec's current syllabus has 19 modules. They cover information gathering, vulnerability scanning, web application and client-side attacks, locating and fixing public exploits, antivirus evasion, password attacks, Windows and Linux privilege escalation, tunneling, the Metasploit Framework and three Active Directory modules.

The exam is a proctored 23-hour-45-minute hands-on test, and you then have 24 hours to write and upload the report. Since the 2024 update, a pass earns both the OSCP, which does not expire, and the OSCP+, which is valid for three years. WebAsha's offensive-security trainers and cyber-range labs give you practice on similar targets, and the course keeps to OffSec's 'Try Harder' approach.

Learn Penetration Testing with Kali Linux (PEN-200) in our classroom and online OSCP+ training at WebAsha Technologies. You practise the hands-on skills that the OSCP+ exam tests.

Training overview:

OSCP+ is OffSec's penetration-testing certification, and PEN-200 is the course that prepares you for it. The 19 modules in OffSec's current syllabus run from information gathering and vulnerability scanning, through web, client-side and password attacks, to privilege escalation, tunneling and Active Directory. The exam is a proctored practical test in a 24-hour slot.

Intended audience:

This course suits aspiring penetration testers, security analysts, and SOC and IT professionals moving into offensive security. It also suits anyone preparing for the OSCP+ exam.

Topics covered:

  • Information gathering: Passive information gathering, port scanning and service enumeration.
  • Web application attacks: Directory traversal, file inclusion, file upload flaws, command injection and SQL injection.
  • Client-side attacks: Target reconnaissance and attacks that run on the user's own software.
  • Exploitation: Locating, checking and fixing public exploits.
  • Privilege escalation: Windows and Linux systems.
  • Pivoting & tunneling: Reaching internal networks through tunnels.
  • Active Directory: Enumeration, authentication attacks and lateral movement.
  • Reporting: Writing a penetration-test report.

Requirements:

You should be comfortable with Linux and the command line. Online participants need a stable internet connection and a laptop or desktop for the live labs.

Prerequisites:

OffSec sets no formal prerequisites. It strongly recommends a solid understanding of TCP/IP networking, reasonable Windows and Linux administration experience, and familiarity with basic Bash or Python scripting.

Career benefits:

OSCP can lead to senior offensive-security roles. In India, OSCP-certified penetration testers typically earn ₹6 LPA to ₹38+ LPA as they gain experience.

Learning from Markham

Cyber Security for learners in Markham, Ontario, Canada

About Markham

A York Region city just north of Toronto that has long hosted Canadian head offices and engineering sites of technology firms, especially along Highways 404 and 407. Graphics-chip maker ATI, now part of AMD, grew up here. Chip and software firms protecting design IP, plus the Toronto banks a short drive south, keep cloud security and governance roles in demand.

Who learns from Markham

Hardware and software engineers on the 404 corridor, students at York's Markham campus and Seneca, and recent immigrants building Canadian-recognised credentials are the likely learners.

Attending online

Ontario is 9.5 hours behind IST in summer and 10.5 hours behind in winter, so an IST evening batch arrives in Markham between about 7:30 and 9:30 am; weekend sessions are often the most practical, and recordings cover the rest. Studying online avoids an extra drive on the 404 or 407.

Cyber Security career scope in Markham

Cyber Security jobs in Markham

In Markham, security is tied closely to protecting engineering work. AMD's graphics and processor design teams guard chip IP that rivals and state actors would like to see, IBM Canada's offices on Steeles Avenue support enterprise clients with managed security, and Lenovo Canada's head office on Idema Road handles device supply chains where firmware and hardware integrity matter. Huawei Canada's Markham presence keeps supply-chain security and Canadian government guidance on telecom vendors in the local conversation.

Seneca Polytechnic's Markham campus and York University's newer Markham campus send graduates into these teams, often through co-op terms. An engineer on the 404 corridor might start with CompTIA Security+, add CCSP or Azure Security Engineer for IBM-style cloud consulting roles, and keep CISSP as a later goal. With Ontario nine and a half hours behind IST in summer, an IST evening batch begins mid-morning, so most working engineers join weekend sessions and fit lab practice into evenings.

For students & freshers in Markham

Markham's students and newcomers face a common problem: Canadian employers along the 404 corridor want Canadian work experience before they hire, and co-op placements are the usual bridge. Job-oriented programs that end with documented projects, such as a deployed web application with monitoring or a hardened Linux server, give York Markham and Seneca students stronger co-op applications. Newcomers with overseas IT experience often need a recognised certification to translate that background for Ontario recruiters.

York and Seneca co-op offices remain the main route to 404-corridor placements, with WebAsha's placement-guarantee program and 500+ hiring partners as an extra source of interviews. Because IST evening batches fall in the Markham morning, international students can attend before afternoon lectures or part-time shifts, then use recordings and the 24x7 labs on weekends to finish internship-style assignments.

Tech community in Markham

Meetups, chapters and events near you

Markham's tech community leans toward hardware and enterprise software, and ventureLAB on Steeles Avenue is its anchor. It runs an innovation space for growing teams, peer groups for hardware founders, and the HardTech Summit held in Markham. Toronto's larger meetup scene is a short drive away.

For someone on a live online cloud, Linux or DevOps course, ventureLAB events are a way to meet small companies that need people to run infrastructure but cannot yet hire a full platform team. Ask founders what tools they use, then build a lab around that stack. Peer events are informal enough to offer help on a project. We found little verifiable on dedicated security or cloud meetups based in Markham itself.

Independent community groups, listed for reference. They are not run by or affiliated with WebAsha.

“Enrolling in OSCP Penetration Testing with Kali Linux at WebAsha is one of the best career decisions I have made. The syllabus covered ethical hacking, reconnaissance, scanning, exploitation and penetration testing in a safe lab in real depth rather than skimming the surface. Live projects gave me the confidence to apply what I learned in a real environment. The batch was slightly large at times, yet the hands-on focus and support made it well worth it.”
