Curriculum CEH v13 AI Master | Certified Ethical Hacker + CEH Practical

CEH v13 AI Master: the 20 CEH modules and the CEH Practical exam

1. Introduction to Ethical Hacking

The first module of the CEH v13 AI course explains what information security protects, how attackers operate, and where a Certified Ethical Hacker stands within the law.

  • Elements of information security, classes of attack and types of hacker
  • The CEH ethical hacking framework, the Cyber Kill Chain and MITRE ATT&CK
  • AI-driven ethical hacking and ChatGPT-based tools for security testers
  • Risk management, the threat intelligence lifecycle and incident management
  • Laws and standards such as PCI DSS, HIPAA, SOX, GDPR and the DPA
2. Footprinting and Reconnaissance

This is the pre-attack phase of ethical hacking. You collect as much public information about a target as you can before you touch its systems.

  • Advanced search engine techniques, people search services and dark web footprinting
  • WHOIS lookups, DNS footprinting, traceroute analysis and email footprinting
  • Competitive intelligence and footprinting through social networking sites
  • Lab work: footprint a target with search engines, internet research services and AI-powered OSINT tools
3. Scanning Networks

You learn how to find live hosts, open ports and running services on a network, and how defenders notice the same scans.

  • Host discovery and port scanning, including scans driven by AI
  • Service version detection, OS discovery and banner grabbing
  • Scanning beyond IDS and firewalls
  • Network scan detection and prevention
4. Enumeration

Enumeration turns scan results into detail you can use, such as user names, shares and service information. The module also covers the countermeasures.

  • NetBIOS, SNMP, LDAP, NTP, NFS and SMTP enumeration
  • DNS cache snooping and DNSSEC zone walking
  • IPsec, VoIP, RPC, SMB and Unix/Linux user enumeration
  • Enumeration using AI, followed by enumeration countermeasures
5. Vulnerability Analysis

Here you learn to find security loopholes in a target organisation's network, communication infrastructure and end systems, and to report them clearly.

  • Vulnerability classification, scoring systems and vulnerability databases
  • The vulnerability management lifecycle and vulnerability research
  • Scanning with vulnerability assessment tools, including AI-powered ones
  • Reading and producing vulnerability assessment reports
6. System Hacking

With eight lab objectives, this is the most practical module in the official outline. It follows an attack from the first cracked password to the removal of evidence.

  • Password cracking and exploitation with the Metasploit Framework and AI-powered exploitation tools
  • Buffer overflow attacks and Active Directory enumeration
  • Privilege escalation on Windows and Linux
  • Keyloggers, spyware, rootkits, steganography and steganalysis
  • Persistence, post-exploitation, clearing logs and covering tracks

You study how malicious software is built and spread, then take samples apart to see what they do.

  • Trojans, viruses, worms, ransomware and fileless malware
  • The APT lifecycle and AI-based malware
  • Static and dynamic malware analysis
  • Virus detection methods, anti-Trojan software and AI-powered malware detection and analysis tools
8. Sniffing

Packet sniffing shows what is really travelling across a network. You practise the attacks and then learn how to detect and stop them.

  • MAC flooding, DHCP starvation, ARP spoofing and ARP poisoning
  • MAC spoofing, VLAN hopping, STP attacks and DNS poisoning
  • Lab work: run a man-in-the-middle attack and capture traffic with sniffing tools
  • Sniffer detection and tools that find interfaces in promiscuous mode
9. Social Engineering

Many breaches begin with a person and not a server. This module covers how attackers manipulate people and how to audit that weakness in an organisation.

  • Human-based, computer-based and mobile-based social engineering techniques
  • Phishing, phishing tools and how to detect a phishing attack
  • Impersonation, including impersonation using AI, and identity theft
  • Social engineering countermeasures and anti-phishing toolbars

  • Lab work: run DoS and DDoS attacks against a target host in the lab
  • DoS/DDoS detection techniques, protection tools and protection services
11. Session Hijacking

Session hijacking exposes weaknesses in session management, authentication, authorisation and cryptography at both the application and the network level.

  • Application-level session hijacking and compromising session IDs
  • Network-level, TCP/IP, RST and blind hijacking
  • Session hijacking tools
  • Detection methods, detection tools and approaches to prevention
12. Evading IDS, Firewalls, and Honeypots

This module looks at perimeter defences from both sides: how they work, how attackers get past them, and how to close the gaps.

Learning from Patna

Cyber Security for learners in Patna, Bihar, India

About Patna

Bihar's capital, the ancient Pataliputra on the Ganga, is primarily an administrative, trade and education centre, with a private IT sector that is still small. It sends a large number of students to competitive exam coaching and to universities elsewhere. Bihar government e-governance projects and the city's banks need security staff, and the skills give Patna graduates a path to metro IT jobs.

Who learns from Patna

Graduates of NIT Patna, Patna University and Aryabhatta Knowledge University-affiliated colleges form the core, often having prepared for government exams before turning to IT. Many intend to work in Bengaluru or NCR.

Attending online

Patna's own IT training options are limited, and many Patna families would rather a son or daughter train from home than spend months in a metro hostel. WebAsha's live online classes on IST make that possible.

Cyber Security career scope in Patna

Cyber Security jobs in Patna

Patna's security work is centred on government and finance. Bihar's state departments run e-governance services and scheme payments from the capital, banks with regional offices around Fraser Road and Dak Bungalow Road manage customer data, and AIIMS Patna and IIT Patna run large institutional networks. NIT Patna, Patna University and Aryabhatta Knowledge University-affiliated colleges supply most learners, many of whom prepared for BPSC or SSC before turning to IT.

For an NIT Patna or AKU graduate, the path is networking and Linux, then CompTIA Security+ and CEH, credentials that SOC teams in Bengaluru and NCR recognise. Evening IST batches let learners in Boring Road or Kankarbagh study after coaching or college hours, and recordings plus 24x7 labs help when monsoon waterlogging keeps people at home or off the network. Bank staff in Patna can also use the track to move from branch operations into IT security.

For students & freshers in Patna

Graduates of NIT Patna, Patna University and AKU-affiliated colleges often spend a year or two on BPSC, SSC or banking exams before turning to IT, and they then need practical experience quickly. WebAsha's job-oriented programs and online internships let them build networking, cloud, security or data projects from Patna, live on IST in the evening, with recordings for days lost to family duties or monsoon waterlogging.

Freshers who complete the work can join the placement-guarantee program and tell the placement team whether they prefer Bengaluru, NCR or remote roles. Patna families who would rather not pay for a metro hostel during training can keep the student at home until an offer arrives. The 24x7 labs suit students who study late in Rajendra Nagar lodges. No WebAsha office exists in Bihar; every class reaches Patna online.

Tech community in Patna

Meetups, chapters and events near you

Patna has a GDG chapter that runs DevFest Patna. It is a good day to hear from working developers and to try a hands-on workshop that fits what you are studying online. IIT Patna also hosts Celesta, its yearly technical festival, and has its own GDG on Campus group, so the campus calendar is worth watching for competitions.

If you are leaning towards startups, STPI Patna runs an incubation centre for IT companies. It offers mentoring, seminars and workshops, and these are a direct way to meet founders. Many of them need people who can manage cloud servers, networks or security, which is useful early experience while you finish your course.
