Prepare for the Prometheus Certified Associate exam with our Classroom and Online PCA Training at WebAsha Technologies. The course follows the knowledge areas tested in the CNCF / Linux Foundation PCA exam.
Training overview:
PCA tests foundational knowledge of observability and monitoring with Prometheus, the CNCF metrics and alerting system. The exam has five domains: observability concepts, Prometheus fundamentals, PromQL, instrumentation and exporters, and alerting and dashboarding. It goes well with hands-on Grafana and monitoring skills.
Intended audience:
The course is for DevOps engineers, SREs, monitoring engineers and administrators who want a recognised Prometheus observability certification.
Topics covered:
-
Observability concepts: Metrics, logs, traces, and SLOs, SLAs and SLIs.
-
Prometheus fundamentals: Architecture, scraping, data model and labels.
-
PromQL: Selecting data, rates, aggregation and histograms.
-
Instrumentation: Client libraries, exporters and metric naming.
-
Service discovery: How Prometheus finds and scrapes targets.
-
Alerting: Alerting rules and Alertmanager.
-
Dashboards: Dashboarding basics, with Grafana.
-
Recording rules: Precomputed queries for faster dashboards and alerts.
Requirements:
Online participants need a stable internet connection and a laptop or desktop. The programme includes trainer-led sessions and practice tests.
Prerequisites:
The Linux Foundation sets no prerequisites for the exam. We recommend basic monitoring and DevOps familiarity before Prometheus certification training.
Career benefits:
Observability is a core DevOps skill. In India, DevOps and SRE professionals with Prometheus skills typically earn ₹5 LPA to ₹34+ LPA.
