Training overview:
The DO457 EX457 training follows the eight chapters of Red Hat's DO457 outline. You start with Ansible basics and a first playbook, then cover Git and automation controller, variables and facts, task control, and roles and Ansible Content Collections. The network chapter deals with configuration backup and the automation of routers, switches, VLANs, SNMP and routing protocols. The labs give you practice at automating networks under exam conditions.

Requirements:
You should know basic networking (switching and routing) and be used to managing network devices from the command line. Online participants need a stable internet connection and a laptop or desktop for the live network automation labs, where most of the EX457 practice happens.
Prerequisites:
For DO457, Red Hat recommends network administration experience (TCP/IP, routers and managed switches) and Linux knowledge at the level of RH124, and says prior Ansible knowledge is not required. For the EX457 exam it recommends RHCSA-level Linux command-line skills, Git experience and an understanding of Ansible Core and Ansible Automation Platform.

Engineers who hold EX457 and can work in both networking and automation are in demand. In India, packages typically range from ₹6 LPA to ₹28+ LPA in roles such as Network Automation Engineer and NetDevOps Engineer. The exam also counts towards the RHCA.
