  • Application configuration: Keep configuration and sensitive data in ConfigMaps and Secrets.
  • Health probes: Add readiness, liveness and startup probes so that OpenShift can tell when an application is healthy.
  • Helm & Templates: Deploy multi-container applications with templates, Helm charts and Kustomize.
  • Tekton CI/CD pipelines: Design, configure and trigger CI/CD pipelines with OpenShift Pipelines (Tekton).

Requirements:

You should understand basic container technology and be comfortable with the Linux and oc command line. Online participants need a stable internet connection and a laptop or desktop for the live OpenShift cloud labs, where the EX288 skills are practised.

Prerequisites:

Red Hat recommends completing DO188 (Containers with Podman) / EX188 or having equivalent knowledge of containers. Red Hat says RHCSA is helpful for command-line work but is not required. It also lists DO288 as recommended preparation for EX288.
